The Fouque house founded in 1934 has been carrying on traditional know-how for 4 generations. The santons are made by hand, out of clay fired at 960 degrees. It is in the family workshop in Aix en Provence that Mireille Fouque and her son create new santons. The Fouque workshop welcomes visitors Monday through Friday to introduce you to all the stages of making the santons. Enjoy a walk in the shaded garden to admire a life-size santon, the famous “Coup de Mistral”, an emblem and creation of the Fouque house.
