A splendid 16th century chateau, it is one of the most visited castle in the department. Built by Lancelot Dulac, the castle became a Protestant stronghold through the family’s alliance with Louise de Coligny. It is now a castle and perfume tour that presents the history of scents, aromatic plants and valuable perfume bottles from the 16th century to now. This 17th century chateau is one of Sologne’s first strongholds. Surrounded by moats, it is a living overview of the architecture of the 17th century. Costumed actors re-enact 17th century life in its kitchens. Children are welcome on the Enchanted Island, where they can play in wood houses built to their scale. It is surrounded by a vast park of 40 hectares. About 25 km from the hotel.
