One of the icons of North African music, Idir came to international prominence shortly after his exile to France in the Seventies. The Kabyl singer continues to symbolise the defiant cultural wealth of his Berber people. In 2007, he released the album "La France des Couleurs" which united a large number of artists from all generations. Together, they paint a picture of the tapestry that French society has become, a direct denunciation of the prevailing political mood.
